Vela is the medical device prototype for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) analysis present in the exhaled breath and other sources of VOC. The analytical technology is based on the Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) and Differential Mobility Spectrometry (DMS) with proprietary modifications and selected neutral gas additions to improved analytical sensitivity. Preliminary data were obtained on lung cancer diagnosis. The first model of this analytical device was successfully implemented in the defense industry. Vela is intended for the POC use with the diagnosis time counted in minutes. Cardiology and infection diseases are target diagnostic markets for the first step of project implementation.
